Germany is pressing the Turkish Government to dismiss all Jewish employees from public institutions and to forbid state institutions to place orders with Jewish firms, it was learned here today following a broadcast from the Nazi-controlled Paris radio station.
Announcing the dismissal last week of some Jewish employees of the Turkish news agency “Anatolia,” the Paris radio stated that “this is merely the prelude to the introduction of the Nuremberg Laws in Turkey.” It indicated that Germany is determined to press the “Jewish issue” upon Turkey under the pretext that normal diplomatic and commercial relations between Turkey and the Reich are suffering “because German officials cannot have dealings with Jews who represent Turkey’s interests.”
