The University of Missouri has closed its doors to citizens of countries at war with the United States, Dr. Frederick A. Middlebush, president of the university, said today. The action would affect a number of students, citizens of Hungary and Germany, who were students during the term just closed, if they sought to re-enroll. At least two have received their first citizenship papers.

Dr. Middlebush stated that the university’s curators had adopted a resolution “that it be the policy of the board of curators that citizens of the countries at war with the United States not be admitted as students.” It is understood, however, that exceptions may be made in individual cases upon appeal to the board.
