Harold MacMillan, British Under-Secretary for Colonies, declared in parliament today that “we have failed to harness for ourselves Jewish goodwill.” He made this statement in presenting a report on the financial status of the colonies to the House of Commons. He cited the Jewish investments in Palestine as one of the important factors in the development of the country and said that the Jews in Palestine have proven themselves an experienced colonial people.
