Dr. Lehman Katzenberger, 86-year-old president of the Jewish Community in Nuremberg, has been condemned to death by the Nazis, according to a report reaching here today.

Julius Streicher, the notorious anti-Semite who is the ruler of Nuremberg, personally appeared in court to demand that the aged Jewish leader be sentenced to death, the report states. Dr. Katzenberger, despite his age, was charged with allegedly violating the so-called Rassenschande regulations.

The deportation of a number of Jewish leaders from Berlin to Nazi-occupied territory in Eastern Europe was similarly reported here today. A report reaching here from Poland says that two Jews were hanged in Brest-Litowsk on the charge that they were in contact with Russian guerrilla fighters on the Eastern front.
