The commander of the Canadian forces in Britain hails the contributions of soldiers whose parents came to Canada as immigrants in a message released here. The message from Lieut. Gen. A.G.L. McNaughton states: “Our Canadian Army is proud to have in its ranks the sons of brave pioneers who came from every part of Europe to settle in Free Canada. They serve in all capacities, and in all grades they make a contribution of great value. All Canadians do honor to those who are pledged to defend with their lives their homeland, Canada, and the principles of freedom and democracy for which we stand.”
