An easing of the rules governing travel by enemy aliens living in the Southern Federal District of New York was announced yesterday by United States Attorney Mathias F. Correa. Effective today, they apply to persons living in the counties of Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, New York (Manhattan), Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, Westchester and Bronx.
“Under the new rules the forms must be obtained by mail,” Mr. Correa’s announcement read. “Any alien who wishes to travel may send in a request for these forms accompanied by a self-addressed stamped envelope nine by four inches in size to Room 128, United States Court House, Foley Square, New York City, and the forms will be mailed to him. The alien must then fill out the forms in triplicate before presenting them for approval. He will then present them in person at least one week in advance of his intended departure. In other respects the old regulations have not been amended.”
