Renewed fifth-column activities of Nazi agents in Palestine, Syria and Iraq are reported here today following an announcement that measures have been taken to protect the Mosul pipeline from any possible sabotage.
The report says that some of the Syrian tribes, financed by Axis agents, have joined with Kurds from Iraq and with small bangs of Arabs who claim to be followers of the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, hiding in the Syrian desert, and are now attempting to raid British communications across the Syrian desert to Mosul.
