Jews in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, whose ouster from the city was decreed last week, will probably be confined in a large ghetto in one quarter of the city instead, it was reported today by the Sofia radio.
The Bulgarian broadcaster stated that Minister of the Interior Piotor Grabovski had issued an order designating various quarters of Sofia as ghettos, but that the Interior department at a meeting in Sofia has decided that it would be more advisable to concentrate all the Jews in one large ghetto.
It is expected that similar action will be taken against the Jews in other of the principal Bulgarian cities, since the decree last week provided for the expulsion of Jews from every large city in the country.
