The American ORT Federation today announced the launching of a constructive aid program in Mexico under which it will supply tools and other equipment to skilled refugees. “In a growing country like Mexico there are many opportunities for productive workers,” Dr. Boris Surowich, ORT representative, said. “The refugees are virtually assured of self-support if they have the tools of their craft. Having reached Mexico empty-handed, they will be supplied by ORT with equipment, such as carpentry and electrical tools and sewing machines. For these they will pay out of their earnings and a revolving fund will be set up to continue the work.”
