Mayor Laguardia Hails Contribution of Jews to American Life

Emphasizing the important contribution which Jews have made to American life, Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia today issued through the Jewish Telegraphic Agency the following Rosh Hashanah greeting:

“As Mayor of the City of New York, and personally, may I extend my warmest greeting and good wishes to all Jews on the Eve of their observance of Rosh Hashanah. American Jews have their place in American life as citizens of this great Republic. They have made important contributions to the American way of life and are honored and respected citizens.” He pointed out that freedom from prejudice and ? is the birthright of every American.
