The opinion that the government of the United States can force Vichy to modify its policy of delivering Jews from France to Germany was expressed here today following a conference between Polish Foreign Minister, Count Raczynski, and some Polish-Jewish leaders on the question of saving as many Polish Jews in France as possible. The cooperation of Jewish organizations in America in supporting the Polish demarche to Vichy, asking the Laval government to permit the emigration of Polish Jews from France to oversea lands, is considered essential here.

The Bishop of Chichester today issued a call to all men and women of the United Nations urging them “to share in the indignation expressed by the U.S. Secretary of State Cordell Hull at the terrible cruelty of the French Government in Vichy towards the Jews in France.”
