The Finnish legation today officially denied reports from Stockholm that Finnish Jews face deportation to Poland, stressing that no change has taken place in the status of Finnish Jews. It added that “some un-desireable elements” have been interned but denied that their treatment was in any way influenced by their religion. The denial came in the form of a telegram addressed to Dr. Simon Federbusch of New York City, formerly head of the Jewish congregation in Helsinki, who had queried the legation this week asking if there were any truth to the reports that Jews of Finland were in danger.
