A dramatic report revealing how the Jews in the ghettos of occupied Poland, though themselves brutally oppressed by the Nazis, held special fasts and prayers during the days when the Nazi army was approaching Alexandria, to pray for the defeat of Rommel’s forces and for the safety of Palestine, reached here today from the underground movement in Poland.

The report arrived as thousands of Jewish school children here gathered in a demonstration at the Wailing Wall, praying for the rescue of Jewish children from Nazi Europe. Six such children, aged from 6 to 7 years, reached Palestine today from Poland after two years of wandering, covering thousands of miles through Russia, India and other countries. They were escorted by an adult. All of them lost their parents in Poland.
