The Canadian Government has been urged by the North American Institute to immediately admit “oppressed people” from Europe to help in transporting them to Canada, and to guarantee the maintenance of many of them in Europe until such time as they can be brought to Canada.

A resolution to this effect was adopted here at a conference of the Institute which is sponsored by the World Alliance for International Friendship Through the Churches. The resolution also recommended the formation of a joint Christian-Jewish commission in Canada to prepare the fundamental principles of peace and post-war reconstruction.
