The German authorities in Poland have speeded up their program of annihilation of the remnants of Polish Jewry as a direct consequence of the battle of the Warsaw Ghetto, in which several hundred German soldiers were killed, it was learned here today. They have unleashed savage raids on the few remaining Jewish communities in Poland in revenge for the Warsaw casualties. In the Warsaw region, the only Jews still alive are those roaming the forests.

The Krakauer Zeitung, official organ of the so-called Government General, reports that Governor Frank, highest Nazi authority in the occupied territory, announced at a meeting in Cracow that all remaining Jews in Poland would be annihilated. At a subsequent meeting of Government officials in Warsaw, he expanded on this threat by declaring that Jews would be rooted out of the entire world as well as Poland.
