The question of Palestine should be settled immediately by the United Nations and not deferred for post-war consideration, it was stated here last night by Leon Henderson, former head of the Office of Price Administration, addressing a gathering of more than 500 workers and officers of the United Jewish Appeal at Town Hall. Mr. Henderson is now chairman of the board of editors of the Research Institute of America.

The record sum of $4,914,819 has been raised to date in the New York area for refugee relief work, overseas needs and assistance to Palestine, it was announced at the gathering by Sylvan Gotshal, president of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York. Other speakers included William Rosenwald, Rabbi Jonah B. Wise, Nathan Straus and Alexander E. Arnstein.
