Condolences on the death of Polish Premier Wladyslaw Sikorski were expressed today by the Board of Deputies of British Jews in a message sent to Acting Premier Stanislaw Mikolajozyk. Premier Sikorski was killed when the plane in which he was returning to London from an inspection tour of Polish troops in the Middle East crashed into the sea off Gibralter. The World Jewish Congress also sent a message of condolences to Mr. Mikolajczyk.

The Jewish Agency for Palestine at the same time voiced its “deep grief” at the death of Major Victor Cazalet, Conservative M. P., who was travelling with Sikorski. The Agency issued a statement describing Cazalet as “a true friend and an undaunted fighter for the Jewish people and Zionism, who had always shown a keen interest in Jewish achievements in Palestine.”
