A demand that a civil commission composed of representatives of the local population be formed to assist the Palestine Government to control the prices of foodstuffs and other commodities was voiced here today by the executive committee of the Histadruth, the Palestine Federation of Labor.

The Histadruth emphasized that the economic structure of the country is in danger as a result of constantly increasing prices which necessitate higher wages, making it impossible for local industrial enterprises to meet the production costs of competing industries in other countries.

The decision of the Zionist Actions Committee to refuse to cooperate in any reconstruction plan of the Palestine Government based on the White Paper was endorsed today by the president of the Jewish Industrialists Association, Arieh Shenkar. Mr. Shenkar’s support of the Committee’s decision was voiced at a special press conference here.
