Air Mail)– Moishe Hendin, who, before the war was a farmer in the Kadimah collective in the Crimea, has been killed in his thirteenth bombing flight over Berlin, according to a message received here from the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee in Kuibyshev.

Hendin took part in twelve successful Soviet air raids over Berlin, in which he unloaded his bombs over the German capital. Recently, while making his thirteenth flight over Berlin, his plane was hit by enemy anti-aircraft shells and caught fire, and Hendin was burned to death. The Kadimah collective farm was evacuated when the Germans approached the Crimea to Kazakstan, where it was joined with the local collective farm Frunze.

M. Kalinin, President of the Soviet Union, has personally handed the Order of Lenin to a Jewish guerrilla fighter named Simon for his daring deeds. Simon’s guerrilla detachment, by mining railway lines, succeeded in causing the derailment of 13 enemy troop trains. The detachment also blew up 18 heavy trucks carrying more than 2,000 German soldiers.
