The Polish Government, through its representative at the Vatican, has taken steps to protect the interests of Polish-Jewish refugees in Italy, it was disclosed today by Tadeuz Romer, Polish Foreign Minister, when he received a Jewish delegation. There are an estimated 20,000 Jewish refugees in Italy, but no figures are available as to how many of them are Polish citizens.

The delegation also discussed with Romer the question of the pending exchange of refugees interned in Shanghai as well as the future of the Polish-Jewish refugee children who were recently transferred from Teheran to Palestine.
