The Swedish Government today issued an announcement stating that though aliens are not permitted under the existing laws to establish businesses during the first three years of their residence, an exception will be made for the refugees from Denmark. Permits will also be issued to refugees to secure employment in Swedish firms.
Only ten refugees reached Sweden yesterday from Denmark. The number of Jews coming here from Denmark has greatly decreased during the last few days. More than 130 Jewish refugee women and children who previously held Swedish citizenship have had their citizenship restored by the Swedish authorities.
Reports from Denmark say that a German ” deportation vessel” bearing 163 Jews left Copenhagen on Friday. The deportees had been captured while attempting to flee to Sweden.
