A special legal committee charged with drafting a memorandum on the subject of race libel and anti-propaganda legislation has been appointed by Archie H. Greenberg, National Commander, Jewish War Veterans of U. S. it was announced here today. Composed of thirty-five outstanding jurists and lawyers throughout the country, the committee will consider the pros and cons of such legislation in accordance with the resolution adopted at the recent encampment calling for the passage of laws to combat the forces of bigotry and intolerance.

In announcing the appointment of this committee, Commander Greenberg pointed out that the proposal “does not mean that we abandon hope in the process of counter-propaganda, education and democratic understanding, nor does it mean that we put all our faith in the passage of a law without the backing of public opinion to sustain that law.”
