Jewish Agency Not Invited to Cairo Parleys on Pan-arab Federation, Shertok Says

Neither the Jewish Agency nor any individual Jewish leader in Palestine has ever received an invitation to participate in the discussions on the establishment of a pan-Arab federation which are not taking place in Cairo, it was disclosed here today by Moshe Shertok, head of the political department of the Jewish Agency.

The Arab press in Palestine today reports that the question of whether Palestine will be included in the projected pan-Arab federation was raised in the Syrian parliament this week. The premier of Syria replied that he was not able to answer the question at present, but added “Palestine will never be removed from our hearts.”

The Arab newspaper Falastin reports today that prominent Palestine Arabs have formed a committee to send aid to persons who were injured, or whose property was destroyed during the recent disturbances in Lebanon.
