JDC Annual Meeting to Be Held Simultaneously at Two Places

The Joint Distribution Committee announced today that as a result of the demand for reservations from persons wishing to attend its 29th annual meeting which will be held on Sunday, it has arranged for two meetings to be held simultaneously in the Commodore and Murray Hill Hotels, with the same speakers and program at each. Principal speakers at both gatherings will be Dr. Joseph Schwartz, European director of the JDC, and Miss Laura Margolis, JDC representative in Shanghai, who arrived here today aboard the exchange liner Gripsholm.

Other speakers will be Dr. Frank Kingdon, educator and radio commentator; Alexander Kahn, General Manager of the Jewish Daily Forward and a Vice-Chairman of the J.D.C.; Harry Greenstein, Welfare Branch Chief of the Division of Programs and Requirements, of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration; Paul Baerwald, Honorary Chairman of the J.D.C., and Joseph C. Hyman, Executive Vice-Chairman of the J.D.C.; Herman Hoffman, Grand Master of the Independent Order B’rith Abraham; Max Ogust, Grand Secy., Free Sons of Israel; Samuel Wohl, President, Council of Warsaw Jews, and Herbert Sussman, Chairman of the Board of Delegates of the United Galician Jews of America. The chairmen of the meetings will be William J. Shroder of Cincinnati, Vice-Chairman of the J.D.C., and I. Edwin Goldwasser, Treasurer.
