A total of 3,177 Jewish immigrants entered Palestine in the last quarter of 1943, it was disclosed here by Eliahu Dobkin, immigration chief of the Jewish Agency.
Mr. Dobkin told a press conference that 1,800 of the immigrants came from Yemen, 640 from Turkey, 415 from Toheran, 210 from the Balkan countries and 112 from adjoining countries. It is expected that 3,500 additional immigrants will enter Palestine during January and February, Mr. Dobkin said, of which total 1,500 will come from Yemen, During all of 1943, he disclosed, 2,018 children arrived under the auspices of the Youth Aliyah.
