Confiscated Jewish Property in France is Valued at 450,000,000 Francs by Paris Paper

Jewish property confiscated in France is estimated to total 450,000,000 francs, according to the French newspaper Petit Parisian received here today. In Paris alone, three thousand Jewish-owned buildings passed to other hands, the paper reported.

Bulgarian newspapers reaching here today report that Slavi Pentev, an official of the Bulgarian Commissariat for Jewish Affairs, has been arrested and charged with appropriating to himself jewelry confiscated from Jews by the Commissariat.

The Grenzbote, a Slovakian newspaper, arriving here today carries a report stating that the three Slovakian cities Nitra, Presov and Bardejov, where Jews formed a fifth of the entire population, are now completely “judenrein.” The towns of Trnava, Kezmarok and Banska-Bystrica, where Jews constituted ten percent of the population before the outbreak of the war, have also had their Jewish populations “liquidated.”
