Chief Rabbi Herog left today for Turkey to confer on plans to rescue Jews in Nazi-held countries. Prior to his departure he visited the High Commissioner for Palestine who wished him success in his mission.

At the same time, members of the executive of the Jewish Agency, including Moshe Shertok, left for London to participate in the political negotiations on Palestine in which Dr. Chaim Weizmann is now engaged. Bernard Joseph, legal advisor to the Jewish Agency, will supervise the activities of the political department during Shertok’s absence. He has been granted voting rights in the executive of the Jewish Agency for that period.

The first all-Palestine conference of the Central European Settlers Organization concluded today after adopting a resolution requesting that the Jewish Agency establish a special Rescue Department, Other resolutions adopted by the conference urge the creation of a united front of all international Jewish organizations engaged in the work of saving Jews in Europe and demand Jewish representation in the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration.
