Arab Protests to U.S. on Palestine Being Given Serious Consideration by State Dept

President Roosevelt, at his press conferences today declined to comment on the Palestine resolution now before Congress. He stated that he had nothing to say with regard to the resolution.

Acting Secretary of State Edward Stattinius today confirmed that the State Department has received representations from four Arab governments regarding the Palestine resolution which demands free entry of Jews to Palestine and the ultimate establishment of a Jewish Commonwealth there.

While the Acting Secretary did not indicate whether the State Department has sent replies to the Arab representations, he declared that they were receiving very serious consideration.
