1,400 Interned Jewish Refugees Must Remain on Mauritius, Colonial Minister Says

Col, Oliver Stanley, British Colonial Minister, today reported to the House of Commons that the 1,400 Jewish refugees who have been interned on the island of Mauritius cannot be permitted for the time being to proceed to Palestine. At the same time he stated that it has been impossible, so far, to make arrangements for their employment elsewhere.
