Canada my admit an additional number of refugees as a result of an investigation being made of between 6,000 and 7,000 refugees now in Spain and Portugal, it was reported here today.

The number of refugees to be admitted will depend in port, it was stated, upon transportation facilities that can be procured, and in part upon the number of refugees who can meet health standards the Dominion prescribes and whose self-reliance Canadian organizations interested in refugee work are prepared to guarantee.

The annual convention of the Ontario section of the Canadian Commonwealth Federation unanimously adopted a resolution calling for the abrogation of the White Paper of 1939 and urging the “establishment of Palestine as a Jewish homeland which should lead to the development of a Jewish Commonwealth.”
