The introduction of yellow badges for Jews in Rumania proper along the same lines as in the provinces of Besserabia and Bukovine is demanded in German newspapers reaching here from Bucherat.
The newspapers point out that now, that now, when the Russian armies are operating on Rumanian soil, the introduction of the yellow badge for Jews in all sections of the country is “urgently necessary in order to effectively control Jewish subversive and detrimental activities which are being carried on blasently in support of the enemy.” The introduction of yellow badges for Jews in “Old Rumania”was planned last year, but the plan was not put into effect since Rumanian authorities began to doubt the invincibility of the German Army after its defeats on the Russian front.
