A representative of the Lisbon office of the Lias-Ica Emigration Association will soon proceed to liberated Italy to examine the problems of about 4,000 Jewish refugees there, many of whom wish to emigrate to other countries, it was reported here today by the Association on the basis of a cabled report received from Dr. James Bernstein, its European director.

The cable also stated that a representative of the Association, Raphael panien, returned yesterday from North Africa where he made arrangements for the formation of a local committee in Morocco representing all elements of Morrocan Jewry. He also visited Camp Lyautey, near Fedallah, in North Africa, where about 400 Jewish refugees will arrive at the end of this month from Spain. Some 365 Sephardic refugees who were brought from Greeoe to Spain, because they were holdere of Spanish identification decuments, will also be given shelter in Camp Lyautey. “Upon their arrival we shall initiate steps for their individual emigration,” the cable said.
