A large poster aimed at fostering better relations between the peoples of all faiths was unveiled in Times Square today by Mayor LaGuardia as the opening gun in a drive to eradicate intolerance in New York City. The poster entitled “Fighting Side by Side,” depicts three American soldiers next to whom appear the words; “Protestant, Catholic, Jew.”

More than 125 such posters will be placed in prominent places throughout the city, it was announced by the Institute for American Democracy, which is sponsoring the project. At the ceremonies in Times Square the assemblage, led by the major, recited a pledge of tolerance.
