Synagogues throughout Britain were crowded with worshippers attending Rosh Hashonah services, although there were less uniformed men than last year as a result of the increased activity on all the war fronts.

Sermons delivered by rabbis and addresses by leaders of the Jewish community marly all stressed the hope that the coming year will see the final downfall of fascism and the establishment of a peace in which Jewish rights will be recognized.
