Although the political and military situation in central Europe and the Balkans has changed within recent months, this will not result of any diminution of the War Refugee Board’s activities, it was stated today by Ira Hirschmann, WRB representative in Turkey, who is pausing here for a few days before continuing to the United States where he will confer with the Board on urgent rescue problems.
Praising the efforts by the United States to assist refugees in Europe, Hirschmann also lauded the cooperation extended the WRB by Jewish organizations, particularly the Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Agency.
