The decisions reached at the pan-Arab unity conference in Alexandria last month will not be affected by the dismissal of Nahas Pasha, Egyptian premier, who was the moving spirit behind the parley, it was stated here by the new premier Ahmed Maher Pasha.
The policy of rapprochement with its Arab neighbors will continue to be followed by Egypt, he said. The prime minister’s statement was made to allay fears among the participating Arab states that the conference results would he negated. The Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent learned, however, that the large Arab Congress which was decided upon at the Alexandria talks will probably not be held in the near future. The congress was scheduled for the end of the year.
