High Commissioner Viscount Gort today visited the Jewish Agency’s agricultural experimental station at Rehovoth, where he was greeted by Dr. Weizmann and other Agency leaders. After touring the laboratories, with Dr. Weizmann as a guide, the High Commissioner lunched with the president of the Agency and Moshe Shertok, chief of the Agency’s political department.
After leaving Rehovoth, Lord Gort visited Tel Aviv where he purchased a English-Hebrew dictionary. He has expressed a desire to learn Hebrew so that he might more easily converse with the Jewish residents of Palestine. Tonight he will attend a performance of the Habimah Theatre in the company of Dr. Weizmann.
