The sufferings and heroism of the Jews of France during the German occupation were depicted by Mr. Leon Meiss and Capt. Guy de Rothschild, members of the French Jewish delegation which arrived here last month, at a meeting at the Pythian Club arranged by the Association of French Jews (ARIF).

Mr. Meiss told of the great assistance extended to the Jews by the Catholic and Protestant churches, which sheltered hundreds of children and adults. Capt. Rothschild spoke of the important role played by Jews in the resistance movement.

The ARIF, which is headed by Baron Edouard de Rothschild, is composed of French Jews now residing in the United States, and is dedicated to assisting in the reorganization of the Jewish community of France.
