A museum of the Jewish cultural treasures of Europe will be established at the Hebrew University, it was announced here today.
Professors Martin Buber, Nachum Torchiner and Fishel Sheierson disclosed at a press conference that the university was planning to erect a special building to house the museum and archives. Everything of value in the fields of science, art and Judaism which can be salvaged will be included. Each country will be assigned a special department.
It was announced, at the same time, that the university is planning to build a students hostel which will welcome the remnants of the Jewish students in Europe. Speakers appealed for funds to make possible erection of the museum and hostel as soon as possible.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
