Jews in the United States Asked to Stop Work for One Hour

Jewish orthodox organizations here today issued an appeal to Jews throughout the United States to keep their stores, shops and offices closed tomorrow for one hour – from noon to 1 P.M. – as part of the world-wide Jewish Day of Mourning. In factories emgaged in war activities Jewish workers will stop work for fifteen minutes only. Prayers will be conducted in all synagegues and memerial meetings will be held in all larger cities in the country.
