Thousands of Jewish soldiers are among the Red Armymen who are fighting today in the streets of Berlin. Also participating in the battle for the German capital is the First Polish Army in whose ranks are many Jews whose families were killed by the Germans and whose homes were destroyed.
In two orders-of-the-day issued last night, Marshal Stalin mentioned many high Jewish officers among those cited for breaking into the Reich’s first city. Among them were Maj.-Gen. Bukshtynovich, Lieut. Gen Kazankin, Tank Maj. Gen Weinrub Artillery Maj.-Gen. Folkenstein, Col. Glesser of the Engineers and others.
