The remaining Jews of Europe should be allowed free access to Palestine as a matter of “justice,” Senator Robert F. Wagner of New York told the senate yesterday.
Declaring that the majority of the American people support the rebuilding of Palestine as “a free and democratic Jewish commonwealth, ” Wagner reminded the senate of the resolutions introduced by himself and Senator Taft, and by Representatives Wright and Compton in the last session of Congress, urging the United States to take appropriate measures for free Jewish immigration and colonization of Palestine.
Senator Wagner then presented to the Senate a resolution recently passed (##) the New York State Legislature, expressing concurrence in these views, and asking Congress to enact legislation in line with these resolutions.
