Many Jews participated in special services today at all synagogues to mark the victory in Europe. Prayers were recited for the martyred Jews, those fallen in battle and the late President Rossevelt. Rabbis of most congregations devoted their sermons to demanding justice for the Jewish people and the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine.
