Well-fed, buxom Austrian girls are being used to care for the thousands of emaciated Jewish refugees who have flooded this city since last week. The girls, most of whom expressed a disinclination to wait on the Jews, were ordered into the hospital by surgeons of the U. S. 65th Division, who are running it.

Hundreds of the refugees are dying daily, despite desperate efforts by American doctors to save them. Six Hungarian Jewish refugee physicians have been enlisted to assist the army doctors. However, the local doctors are not being asked to help. "I don’t think they understand our kind of medicine," Major Solomon Rosenfeld grimly told a Jewish Telegraphic Agendy correspondent. When the refugees recover, they will be sent home.
