The British Government is determined not to permit the Palestine question to be dragged into the forthcoming international discussions on the Levant crisis, well-informed observers here stated following Prime Minister Churchill’s address in Commons today on the situation in Syria and Lebanon.

Churchill’s speech was interpreted to mean that the diplomatic discussions for settlement of the dispute between France and the Levant countries will definitely not involve any other countries in the Near East except Syria and Lebanon, although Gen. de Gaulle has suggested that the discussions should include problems of all the Arab states in the Middle East.
