Thousands of Jews Still Confined in Several Camps in Austria; Many Dying Daily

Two thousand Jews are still confined in Camp Ebensee, near Gmunden, Oberdenau, in Austria, which was liberated by American troops, it was reported here today. About 1,500 or them are Polish Jews, mainly from Silesia.

Most of the inmates are ill and many die daily, the report says. They need food, medical aid and other assistance. In the same region, the report also reveals, are other camps containing several thousand Polish, Hungarian and Czech Jews who are in an equally bad state. The American troops are aiding the survivors, but much more assistance is required.
