Thousands of Jews throughout South Africa attended services of intercession for the opening of Palestine to Jewish immigrants. Rabbi L. Rabincwitz, former chaplain in North Africa, declared at a service here: “We will make it possible for Palestine to absorb the hunted and unwanted survivors of the Nazi holocaust in Europe. We want no help from the nations of the world. All we want is that they do not hinder.”
