76 Palestine Jews Jailed for Clashes in Colonies; 12 Other for Aiding “illegals”

Seventy Jewish settlers and six members of the Jewish settlement police, who were arrested at the colony of Emek Hefer following the disturbances of a fortnight ago, were today sentenced to three months imprisonment.

Twelve young Jews, who were arrested on barges on Nov. 24 for allegedly aiding is the landing of “illegal” immigrants, received sentences of one month in prison. There who were seized at the same time were released yesterday from the Latrun detention camp.

A police communique today said that one of five Arabs who attempted to enter a military camp at Tel Litvinsky yesterday to “purchase arms” was killed by guards, another was seriously injured, while the remaining three escaped.
