A vessel carrying 750 visaless Jewish immigrants was an route to Haifa tonight under the escort of two British destroyers.
The warships, which intercepted the immigrant ship far outside Palestine territorial waters, ware summoned by a reconnaissance plane which spotted the vessel making for Palestine.
The point of departure of the ship, which is believed to be the “Tel Hai,” is not known.
