A patrol of the Transjordan Frontier Force (Arab Legion) has apprehended 40 Jewish refugees attempting to cross into Palestine from Syria, it was reported here today.

The Hagana secret radio, “Voice of Israel,” today called for the ouster from Palestine of the TJFF, terming the Arab force “this unseemly blot on our fair land, this source of unrest.” The broadcast charged that the Government, knowing that the Palestine Arabs will not rise against the Jews, trained and equipped the Arab Legion “to be ready for the day when the command is given.”

In the last few months troops of the TJFF have created disturbances by shooting peaceful Jewish farmers, assaulting Jewish women, and inciting Arab villagers against Jews, the broadcast added. “There are enough British troops in Palestine,” the broadcast concluded. “The Arab Legion is not needed. If the Legion remains, we will know why.”
